Electropolished - This process involves the stainless steel fittings being placed in a bath of chemicals and having a high electrical current run through it. The process peels back the outer layer of the stainless steel increasing the proportion of chromium on the surface. This type of finish results in a smoother, shinier and brighter surface, as well as enhancing the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel. 

The preferred grades of stainless steel for industrial use are titled 304 and 316 due to their excellent corrosion resistance, suitable finish and versatility.

• 304 Stainless Steel:

  • Most commonly used grade

  • General-purpose

  • Good corrosion resistance

• 316 Stainless Steel:

  • Known as “Marine Grade

  • Contains molybdenum for added resistance to saltwater corrosion

  • Better suited for coastal or marine environments

  • More corrosion-resistant than 304, but not completely rustproof
