Protect your caravan from harsh outdoor conditions with our heavy duty pop top caravan cover, designed to provide reliable all-weather protection while your caravan is stored at home, on the driveway, at the storage yard or between trips.

Made from heavy duty coated fabric, this caravan cover offers excellent water repellency and waterproof protection, helping shield your caravan from rain, dust, dirt, bird droppings, tree sap and everyday weather exposure. The fabric is designed to resist UV damage and mildew, making it ideal for Australian outdoor conditions.

This all-weather caravan cover is made to help prevent stretching and shrinking, giving you a better long-term fit and more dependable protection. For added strength, the cover features reinforced corners and double stitched seams, helping improve durability in high-wear areas.

Secure buckle straps over the top help keep the cover in place, while three zippered side panels allow easy access to caravan doors without needing to remove the full cover. This makes it a practical choice for regular access during storage.

Perfect for pop top caravan covers, hybrid pop top covers and outdoor caravan storage, this cover is a great option for protecting your caravan from sun, rain, mildew and weather damage.

Polyester vs Polypropylene – Why Material Choice Matters Outdoors

When choosing yarn, thread, webbing or fabric for outdoor use, UV resistance is an important factor. Two common synthetic fibres used in industrial and everyday products are polypropylene and polyester, but they perform very differently when exposed to sunlight.

Polypropylene is a widely used plastic fibre often found in packaging, containers, ropes, piping and other products where chemical resistance, heat resistance or electrical insulation may be required. However, polypropylene can break down much faster when exposed to UV rays from the sun. Over time, sunlight can weaken the polymer structure, causing the material to lose strength and become brittle. For this reason, standard polypropylene is generally not ideal for long-term outdoor use unless it has been specially UV-stabilised.

Polyester, on the other hand, is known for its better resistance to UV exposure and outdoor weathering. It is commonly used in clothing, outdoor fabrics, high-strength ropes, industrial sewing threads, bottles and insulation. Compared with polypropylene, polyester generally holds its strength for longer when exposed to sunlight, making it a more suitable choice for outdoor applications.

This is especially important for products used in harsh Australian conditions, where materials may be exposed to strong sun, heat, wind and rain. Choosing polyester over standard polypropylene can help improve durability, strength retention and long-term performance.

Some polypropylene fibres can be improved with UV additives such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, which help absorb UV light and slow down deterioration. However, unless polypropylene has been specifically UV-treated, it may degrade within months of regular sun exposure.

For outdoor and industrial applications where strength, durability and UV resistance matter, polyester is often the better choice. Its natural resistance to sunlight makes it a reliable option for products exposed to the elements, including outdoor sewing, shade products, covers, straps, webbing and other weather-exposed materials.
