Wind and water can not pass through your shade sail, so you need to ensure your shade sail is tensioned well to avoid loose fit and movement. We recommend your shade sail is on a 20% slant to cater for water to run off, and to avoid water pooling on the shade sail. Without a minimum of 20% drop/slant, pooled water will be unsightly and create extra strain on your fixing points.

• 20% drop for water run off (avoid the shade sail pooling with water)
• Tension your shade sail so it is not able to flap around (Wind can not pass thorugh it)
• Fixing points need to be structurally sound (Check with a handyman or builder if unsure)
• Posts need to be of the size 90mm or greater.
• General rule for is 1/3 of the post in the ground for Sun shade material and up to 1/2 in the ground for waterproof depending on the size of the shade sail
