S Hooks are used to extend or attach in shade sail installation. If you are not using Turnbuckles then you will need either a snap hook, s hook or D shackle to attach you shade sail to your fixing point.

I'm glad you invited me to review these clips. I am very happy with the price of these compared to those from the hardware store. It was great to have them arrive with the sails. However I must warn people to be careful as when installing the 5th of the 6 I bought, upon sliding my thumb along the clip to open it I managed to get a 1cm slice wound to the pad of my thumb and long thin shard of metal embedded inside. I had to get an expensive urgent GP appointment to have it removed, one stitch and a course of antibiotics as she said it had gone quite deep. I realise that these sorts of defects can happen during manufacturing and only wish I had made a more detailed examination of the clips before using them.
